Biography

Nefertiti was the wife of Akhenaten and played a major role in his religious reforms. She was often depicted alongside him in art and may have co-ruled Egypt. Her most famous statue is a painted limestone bust discovered in Amarna, now in Berlin, showing her with a tall blue crown and delicate facial features. This statue has become a timeless symbol of feminine beauty and ancient Egyptian culture. Though her final years are mysterious, Nefertiti’s statues and depictions suggest she held great political and ceremonial power.
